Reading Challenges TBR

Mid-year(ish) Challenge Update!

2 Dandelions Bookshop Bingo Board
I have 2 prompts left, read an AAPI author (reading Nine Tailed by Jayci Lee now), and attend a poetry event at the shop. There are poetry open mics every month so I have 7-8 more tries!

The Novelist Challenge
I have three of these left. I know it’s set up to be a book a month from their prompts, but since I have populated it mostly with books from my existing TBR, I’m reading whatever when I feel like it. Mostly because I do not really plan what I am going to read in a month!

BookRiot Read Harder
I’m at 16/24 prompts. I do finally have a book picked out for each of the prompts, though not all of them are from my TBR, which is expected, and really the point of the challenges, right?

StoryGraph Read the World Challenge
Speaking of the point of the challenges, I did just finish a really cute book that was not on my TBR, but I read for Read the World Challenge. So it’s working, right? For this one, I have read 4/10.

StoryGraph Genre Challenge
I’m at 5/10 with this challenge, and it’s been the hardest, honestly. I am very comfortable in the genres I read, so finding books that satisfy these prompts has definitely been a challenge (haha) for me.

Reading my TBR Update
Welllllllllll….. I am making progress on this, but it just doesn’t look like it because every book I finish I add at least 2 more to my TBR. I go to work and there are just all these interesting books! At one of the two library jobs I have, every single book we order comes through me before it hits the shelves. Every. Single. One. There are so many, and SO MANY LOOK SO GOOD. And of course, I have a barcode scanner attached to my computer at work which makes it so easy to add to my TBR! My current TBR is 672.

With the exception of the books I add to put in as a part of a challenge though, I am reading books that have been on my TBR awhile, pretty regularly.

I am doing pretty well at not haranguing myself for not making closer to 600 and being almost halfway through the year. But I am also often thinking “How?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!” as in, how can I not have made more progress, when I’ve read 123 books this year?! I guess it goes to show how many amazing books are published every year!

I’m looking forward to the rest of the year, and I swear I’m going to finish Zodiac Academy this year!
