Dragonfruit

This was an amazing read! I waited for months to get it from Libby and it was so worth the wait.

Adventure, strong female main character, magic, and Dragons! A great read, no matter the age of the reader. This is a YA book, aka, there is one kiss, very innocent. I devoured it in a day, nonetheless. This book is based on Pacific Islander mythology, and I loved the way the story tied it all to the life of Hanalei.

This was so well written (duh, authors of color have to work so much harder to get published, so of course the author is amazing) and it sucked me in from the first words on the page.

Even though this is YA, I don’t think there is a single reason to not read this book as an adult. I am going to recommend my kid read it when she’s done with her Percy Jackson foray.

10/10, would read again.
