Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf by Isabelle Taylor – ARC Review
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this before release day, which is today!
tl;dr: Luna ends up “fake” married to a werewolf, Oliver, and they both catch feels.

Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf by Isabelle Taylor (affiliate) ended up with a lot more depth to it than I expected based on the writing towards the beginning of the book. I wish that the examination of the characters and their motivations was sooner in this sci-fi romcom because it added so much more to the fluffy tale (pun absolutely intended) that we were getting before.
There are a number of inconsistencies and massive handwaving to explain away some things at the beginning (and one towards the middle) that bothered me, but it was to be expected based on the style of writing at that point. I feel that as the writing went deeper (matured?) and/or the author discovered more of the voices and motivations of the characters the story was less surface and more soulful. I really like the change, and I wish that tone had been set a little sooner.
While an HEA is guaranteed (duh, romance) the third act conflict felt different. The change in Luna is more explicit on the page which I think is often lacking in other stories with a similar arc for the FMC. I would have loved to see this type of depth earlier in the book. She had more depth more toward the middle and the author kept that out of the story more than I think they needed to.
I feel the opposite about Oliver’s story arc though. His supposed growth was not as explicit in the story until almost the very end. I wish that we could have seen more of it through out the book in addition to him noticing the ways that Luna handicapped herself and her work. I also was not fond of the handwaving just prior to his watershed moment.
The spice, however, was excellent. The added bonding feelings that were acknowledged and described during the sexy scenes added even more heat to them. I wondered if my device would catch fire on some of them!
I hope that Isabelle Taylor writes more books that are more like the second half of this one, because if that was the whole book, it would have been a 5 star rating, as it is, it’s 4.5.
Final Words? Worth it for cozy romcom lovers with a sci-fi bent.
