ARC Review: The Romance Revival by Christina Lauren
To start off, here’s my StoryGraph review:
I loved this book! It was part romance, part heist, part suspense, and entirely riveting! Faced with the death of a loved one, top secret super scientist Emery saves her loved one with science that hasn’t been tested on humans.
What follows is a beautiful second chance romance that kept me glued to the end.
Thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book early and enjoy it so much!
Ahead there be spoilers – readers be warned!
This was such an unexpected delight from Christina Lauren, the writing team of Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings. I was expecting more of a standard contemporary romance vibe than the genre mixing that actually took place!
Obviously, from the back of the book, we expected something terrible to happen to Luca, though I definitely managed to goldfish that when starting the book. How, I’m not sure. So when Luca dies after being hit by a car, I was surprised.
The twisty turny events post-accident, and their recovery of their relationship in a beautiful, meet-me-where-I’m-at way was a delight to watch unfold. I enjoyed the plot twist reveal, and I won’t say more because I enjoyed it so much that I would rather you read it for yourself!
A joy to read, and I would highly recommend this book for you this summer!
You can purchase at any bookstore, but might I recommend Bookshop.org, which has both a sale for Bookstore Romance Day (8/15) and will support whichever indie bookstore you choose with your purchase?
And for the audiobook folks, you can support your local indie bookstore at Libro.FM!
A small commission will come to me if you purchase through any of the Libro or Bookshop links in this post.
